The Japanese government has designated 115 places throughout the country as Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Historic Buildings. Five of those districts are in Fukuoka Prefecture. These districts are not confined to houses; they can be anything from townscapes and waterways. Any area that has value as a historical community can be under consideration. In this video, we introduce one of Fukuoka Prefecture's preservation districts, Ukiha City's Niikawa Tagomori District.
